Choosing Pedal Go Karts
A pedal go kart makes a fantastic gift for a child of any age and not just at Christmas but at any time of the year. Pedal go karts have been a favoured toy for decades with the first designs dating back to more than a century ago. Fast forward to today and we know that they are still a popular choice amongst children.
When choosing your new pedal go kart there are several factors you need to consider;
Safety; Modern design and manufacturing standards means that new pedal go karts are designed and built with safety in mind and purchasing from leading manufacturers like Kettler, Berg and Ferbedo ensures the highest quality.
Size; Most Go Karts now come with some adjustment in the seating so they can be adjusted to the most comfortable driving position.
Price; Each manufacturer produces a range of Go Karts from simple inexpensive models to exclusive top of the range models which boost additional features.
Does he or she like it; Lets face it we all want the best for our children and there is nothing more fulfilling than seeing their faces light up with excitement so give some thought to the style and colour. We know they are going to love it!

Pedal Go Karts – The Timeless Toy
We all remember our first Go Kart and the hours of fun it brought us. It didn’t really matter what make or model it was ours and we loved it.
Back in the day when the cost of materials was higher and production techniques were not capable of producing some of the great Go Karts we see today many were home made. Dads would spend lots of time and money producing wooden Go Karts that for those of us that weren’t lucky enough to live on a hill required two people to operate them; a driver and a pusher. Turns at driving and pushing were taken throughout the day until the sun set or mom called us in for supper.
Look at the steering which is a length of rope threaded through two holes in the front axle plate. This steering mechanism would take some time to master and on tougher corners could often lead to over-turned Go Karts and scrapped elbows.
Today modern Go Karts are very different. Dad can hang up his hammer and nails and sit back and relax in the garden. No longer do we need to get our best friends or siblings to agree to push us around all day because we’re totally independent. With the introduction of pedals the driver is totally self-sufficient the only requirement is a big breakfast and lunch so we can keep going all day.
And that’s not all with proper steering mechanisms and pneumatic tyres negotiating the tightest corners and the toughest terrains are an absolute breeze.
